IS THERE A HEAD COVER IN THE QUR’AN? VEILED SECRETS AND BARE FACTS!

There are a number of verses that are cited as examples by those who claim that the commandment of the head cover exists in the Qur’an. Let’s analyze these verses together.

CILBAB VERSE

O Prophet! Tell thy wives and thy daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks close round them (when they go abroad). That will be better, that so they may be recognized and not annoyed. Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful. (Ahzab, 33/59)

Let’s look at this now what is Cilbab (covering or veiling oneself);

Exegesis also tells us how cilbab is worn and how it is practiced. For example:

Ibnü`l-Cevzî: they cover their heads and faces.

Ebû Hayyân: the phrase ” let them cover their cilbab” refers to the covering of the whole body. By saying “on them”, their faces are also meant. Because in the time of ignorance, women’s faces were the most obvious places.

Ebu`s-Su`ûd: The woman throws cilbab at her head, and she dangles the edge over her chest. This verse means that if women leave for any reason, they cover their faces and bodies.

Süddî de: He said, ‘ They cover all their faces except one eye.’

Ibn Kudâme: Cilbab (without wearing) is worn over the dress.

The prayer of a man whose cilbab (shirt) is forbidden will not be accepted.) [Hadith: Narrated Hadith Alimi Bezzar]

This means that cilbab is a large cover that covers roughly the extent to which even the face is not recognized. From time to time, men would pull this veil on their backs or heads, and they would be protected from the sun, wind and sand. So Why did God order it to be worn? He ordered because women were not to be hurt (not to be injured, killed etc.). So let’s see why this verse comes down.

After the emigration, the atmosphere of war began to feel better and plans were made in Medina to kill everyone who joined the Prophet’s side. In fact, both the infidels and the Muslims started killing each other where they captured them. Assassinations were being carried out on the active names.

Our mother Zeynep, the daughter of our prophet, was assassinated. A spear was thrown at him while she was on a camel, although there was a man guarding him. The spear dropped her from her camel. She was pregnant and had a miscarriage due to this fall. (The baby in her belly is dead). Our mother, who was injured, was unable to go to her father, and those who intervened saved her from death with the help of Allah.

Recognition of the emergence of women’s identity in such an environment was highly objectionable. The women were ordered to stay at home as much as possible and cover up beyond recognition when they came out. However, it was stated that the order was not to squeeze them but to protect them. According to this verse, women should be covered up in the same way when a similar security threat occurs. But if they don’t have a situation for sure where they will be hurt then they don’t need to be covered up with cilbab.

HUMURLAR VERSES

And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and be modest, and to display of their adornment only that which is apparent, and to draw their veils over their bosoms, and not to reveal their adornment save to their own husbands or fathers or husbands fathers, or their sons or their husbands’ sons, or their brothers or their brothers’ sons or sisters sons, or their women, or their slaves, or male attendants who lack vigour, or children who know naught of women’s nakedness. And let them not stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment. And turn unto Allah together, O believers, in order that ye may succeed. ” (Nûr, 24/31)

First, let’s see if the word humur is “head cover” or just a cover. The root of the word Humur comes from the word “to cover”. As the small one of the prayer rugs is called humur, the covering can also be called humur. No one can prove that humur is just a word to the head. If it were meant to be pointed out in the verse that humur is a veil that should hide the head and hair, it would say over your hair and your chest, rather than strike humur over your chest. If there was a reality in Islam that a woman would burn for 40 years, of course, Allah would say, “hide even the strands of your hair, or you will burn” in order to protect women.

The fact that it mentions the trappings at the beginning and the end of the verse suggests that the main task of humur is to hide the trappings placed on the chest.

Some exegetical scholars claim that the purpose of the trappings is all the parts of the woman except her face and hand. In other words, when the woman is ordered to “hide your adornments,” what they must do is to hide everything except their faces, instead of hiding their gold and treasure. So how does the Qur’an describe the trappings?

And verily in the heaven We have set mansions of the stars, and We have beautified it for beholders. Hicr/16

And horses and mules and asses (hath He created) that ye may ride them, and for ornament. And He createth that which ye know not. Nahl/8

They said: We broke not tryst with thee of our own will, but we were laden with burdens of ornaments of the folk, then cast them (in the fire), for thus As-Samiri proposed. Tâ-Hâ/87

It seems that all kinds of ornaments and worldly goods are trappings. However, we can better understand that the trappings of this verse are gold. Because the verse says;

“Women except those who appear spontaneously (ring, snip, etc.) “they may show their trappings to their father-in-law, to male servants who do not need them, to the adult children of their brothers, to other women.”Any mind that is merciful will say ” Make way!.” If a woman had her adornment, such as her breasts, her buttocks, and her legs, would it be shown to those who are forbidden? Let’s just say it was welcome as a close relative. So why should it be free to be shown to male servants and other believing (high believer) women?”

It is clear that the verse means gold by trappings. God did not hesitate to mention the woman’s breast, nor did he fear to count others. He clearly ordered her to strike her veil over her chest. He has made clear where to close. In the continuation of the verse, while it says ” male servants who do not need”, it mentions servants who are in good financial condition. We always think slaves are poor. However, the slaves of very wealthy families were quite wealthy, as they were in the Ottoman Empire. In the past, anyone who had a life-long working contract was also called a slave. Slaves could have their own homes, their own salaries. Some slaves would never want to be freed, they would see it as expulsion, and they would boast of being the slave of a very rich man. Like right now…

In fact, the reason humur is covered on the chest is because the most jewelry and necklace is on the chest. The license granted to open gold ornaments to close relatives, children and believing women is because they are more environmentally harmless and trustworthy about extortion. God did not tolerate their total concealment, and he found the adornment beautiful, but he allowed them to show it to certain groups for their safety. He forbade showing off. He did this to protect her and her property.

In the continuation of the verse, it is for the same reason that it is forbidden to hit the ground in order not to know the ornaments. No woman’s leg, chest or hip appears when her foot hits the ground. Only some of them have a vague movement, which is incomprehensible over a baggy dress. But bracelets, anklets and necklaces make a sound as you hit your foot.

In addition, during the period of jahiliyah, it was common for women to circumambulate the Kaaba naked. Because they didn’t want to go around in the clothes they had sinned in. In other words, contrary to popular belief, in Mecca, women would dress very openly and it would not be condemned to undress even in a sacred space.

“After this year, no idolater will perform the pilgrimage, and no one will go around the house naked.” (Buhârî, Hac, 67)

However, since there was no belief in the hereafter in Mecca and no police and state structure was formed, theft was very common. The biggest risk was theft and then murder of people of different faiths for religious reasons. For this reason, women are ordered not to encourage men to attack them, first to protect their rapes, to protect their gaze, and then to hide their gold trappings to protect them from thieves. Because it is the 3 main elements that cause the woman to be hurt.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE CLOTHES?

O Children of Adam! We have revealed unto you raiment to conceal your shame, and splendid vesture, but the raiment of restraint from evil, that is best. This is of the revelations of Allah, that they may remember. A’râf Surah 26th Verse

We understand that the Lord has taken down two garments, one of which covers the ugly places, namely underwear. Our ugly places are the areas where dirt comes out of them and which have darker skin than our bodies and are covered with more hair.

The other dress that is downloaded is the dress that is worn to be adorned over the undergarments. The garment of piety is the garment of fear of God. Only the garment of fear protects man from disaster and hell.

If God had sent down the garment to cover the woman completely, he would not have made it clear that the garment was intended to conceal adornments and indecencies. It is an act of cruelty to convict a woman on a sheet without a security threat. God wanted men and women to cover their ugly parts with clothes and to decorate them.

VEILING IN THE HADITH

The Prophet Aişe, her sister the Prophet Esma, explains the way our Prophet personally carried out this order by giving examples: One day, Esma, the daughter of the Prophet Ebu Bekir, entered the presence of the messenger of Allah in a thin dress. The prophet turned away from her and said, ” O Esma! Surely, when the woman reaches puberty, it is not appropriate for her to appear except in these and these parts.” When the Prophet said this, he pointed to his face and palms. (4)

We should be aware that while the security risks on women persisted in the period of Mecca and Medina, and the lack of police and court agencies in the social structure at that time encouraged women to dress indoors at all times. Of course, the Prophet recommended this to his family. His use of the phrase “not appropriate” in his address to Esma can also be explained by the fact that this is a recommendation and that the prophet describes what befits his people.

THE LOGICAL AND CONSCIENTIOUS ISSUES OF FORCING WOMEN TO COVER UP

In general, according to strict Islamic commentators, there are logical reasons why women should be forced to cover themselves even in a safe environment. These are as follows;

1) Men look at women’s open places and become aroused. This leads them to adultery or offend them for not being able to reach it.

That phrase is true. But the same problem exists for women. Women can become aroused when looking at the open bodies of handsome men, escape adultery or suffer for lack of access. In this case, the traditionalist commentators describe God with an unjustified and male-favoring understanding. That is a lie against God. He’s fair. It is a double standard to force the man to wear a simple pair of shorts and cover the woman so tightly that she will be covered.

Also, the face area that these retarded commentators allow to open is the most beautiful, most attractive place for the woman. If the woman is closed due to arousal, the woman’s mouth, eyes and cheeks should also be closed. For many, these can be even more provocative than other members of the woman. This indicates that their interpretation actually contains inconsistencies in itself.

2) Traditionalist commentators are unanswered against the tyranny of geographical influence.

Imagine the two women on the bus. One of them is tightly closed with a turban, the other is a woman who sits coolly in loose and open clothes. If a traditionalist commentator of islam slanders God by expressing it as an order, even though there is no clear command in the Qur’an, then he will take the blame for the great distress suffered by billions of women during the hot summer months and find himself in hell. In addition, if these women object to why there is no command and comfort to men, and if they break out of religion and switch to another religion, then they will be completely burned. Those bad commentators; those who scald Muslim women in black sheets under the sun while enjoying themselves in the wind and water on JETSKI deserve the punishment of hot water.

3) Qur’an; 22:78 He has chosen you, and has made it no hardship for you in religion, Allah ordered.

Even though Allah has stated that he does not want Muslims to have difficulty, it is a conscience to keep the woman away from being adorned with a dress described as an ornament, and to confine her to a sack, torture chamber and boiling cauldron that is flat and free of all decoration.

The last word, of course, is that we support the dressing of men and women as people who are committed to God without arousing their own self. But in doing so, it is God who expects us to wear extremely stylish and awe-inspiring dresses at the same time. And we have no right to ruin anyone’s eyes in disfigured clothes. We have no right to ruin our women in the heat of summer and cool them out of religion.
